
Charmaine Carter, CEO/President and founder of Survivor’s of the Lion’s Den, Inc. (SOLD). Ms. Carter is a registered speaker for Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), a national abuse organization and a member of the Virginia Sexual & Domestic Violence Action Alliance (VSDVAA). As a public speaker, she has spoken at several “Take Back the Night” Programs at local colleges/universities, and also at many organizations and churches in the Richmond Metropolitan Area. In June 2009, Ms. Carter hosted an internet radio talk show and a cable TV talk show called “Survivors of the Lion’s Den,” designed to serve survivors of abuse. She has been interviewed several times in regard to her book, and is former Editor/Chief and owner of a local Newsletter called Richmond Addiction News (RAN) that had a readership of approximately 2,400. She co-created a 60 minute, performance monologue in 2011 titled “Black Family Lies Performance Monologue of Abuse & Redemption,” which she performed three times to separate groups of men in local jails. The monologue is based on her book “Black Family Lies,” an autobiographical account of her abusive past. In April 2012 awarded “Vagina Warrior” trophy for her work in the Domestic Violence field. Author of two published books, one called “Black Family Lies” and the other “Ashley Terrace Murder”. She currently, is working on her third book and hosting her "Survivor TV Program".

I have just finished writing my first Screenplay for my First movie: Black Family Lies, the movie!! It gets crazy from now on. I will be moving at a cheetah's pace...HOORAY!!!
